it was primitive
a way of life
you dreamed about in elementary school
  history books
the sort with pictures
   artist depictions
of the caveladies and cavegentlemen
    courting with clubs and feverish fucks
and love was a word used for foods
     and not for eyes or personalities or styles
it was harsher and thinner
      and better
and the minds were kept simple
       so the problems stayed simple enough
to be solved with clubs and feverish shouts
        mindless minds like diamond mines yet to be excavated
still shining in glory unused
         and it was so perfect

when our lips kept to themselves

          and bits of diamond soul began to chunk away

and be dispersed in the wind

         diamond dust storm torrents through
and worthless words become ideas
        and cavegentlemen become savage
clasping at pencils and paper in the sake of love
      and caresses and gentle love making
the sweet caveladies going insane
     pulling their hair since the guys make them goo goo
ga ga
    ga ga
so the world falls apart and disintegrates
   as the imbalance crushes us all
we were diamond mines
  with our diamonds whole, and strong
sand in the breeze now, our inside
from dignified cavepeople to crazed housemen
building shelter with dead trees

skeletons of simpler days
caresses and gentle love making
