Literature Text

Infant joy
Songs of fire
Amusing, high heaven
I want to reach within
And bring forth infinitesimal phoenixes

Borne into the plumage of decembers
Smoldering intestines
Collicky with glue fingers
Picking up
Glitter

The shine of time
Diamond eyes, tips of teeth
Kissing over gums little tongues

The face of nascency
Gurgles forth the clean sound of forever
Ma ma ma; eenunna na    hurmma mam am ahhh
How could poetry destroy the language of innocence,
The blush of true happiness,
Invincible?

a baby stares intently
Comprehending my eyes
Shaking pupils dilate and cannot lie
I thought about killing myself
But I cannot remember why–

I swoop my voice high and low
And kiss toes and feel tacky fingers
Wrap my trigger finger
Soft, forgiving
Metal clicks
Car keys
To be read from any starting point and back through
